Hot Donuts Now

We haven't gotten David Krispy Kremes straight from the grease (yet), but we did the next best thing this weekend. We went to our local farmers market with Evie and Nate on Saturday and enjoyed some fresh, warm donuts. We eventually had to cut him off after about a donut and a half. I think if he'd had his way, he would have eaten the entire dozen.
Today we hit the zoo as soon as it opened, once again with David's friend Evie. We saw elephants, a brown bear eating his breakfast, baby camels and a very noisy tiger, none of which impressed David in the least. He probably gets his fill of wildlife in our living room.
This afternoon he got to meet our friend Adam and great uncle Roger and great aunt Barb. It took a little while, but David warmed up enough to give all his guests some smiles, nonsensical shouting and, of course, the faux sneeze.

Happy Memorial Day, everyone! Hope you're enjoying your holiday weekend.

Time to eat the donuts. Evie and David holding hands.

Dueling slides at the zoo. Kevin and David checking out the tiger.

Mara and Kevin,

Congratulations on your beautiful boy from the Burkes in South Carolina! I ran into Aunt Judy at the grocery store, and she told me about your blog and brought me up to date on your news and news on the aunt and uncles in Texas. I am thrilled for you and hope we can one day meet David. This made my day!

Not to worry, we can take care of KKD's in SC!

Talking about making a day! It is great to hear from the Burke's.

From little Peyton's cookbook ... If you take a piece of donut in one hand and a piece of banana in the other, then smush them together, it makes the tastiest (and messiest) treat ever!!

This guy brings a whole new meaning to "Great Nephew". He has mechanical skills (no not the walking kind), he likes tools and banging, if something turns he turns it and like Daddy says, he has his no look pass down pat!
We shook hands like gentlemen (no high fives)found out that putting things inside of other things is cool and I'm thinking that orange is one of his favorite colors.

He likes to share and doesn't rip wrapping paper into shreds so Grandma Lil and him should get along fine.

His sippy cup skills are pretty good with, get this, one OR two hands and he doesn't seem to care whether he is getting any liquid or not, he's drinking by golly.

Yep, pretty great indeed!
