We are experiencing technical difficulties

Our computer is old, cranky and riddled with 8 years of viruses, spyware and other garbage. So this past weekend we finally went out and bought a pretty new Apple laptop. Now we just have to figure out how to hook it up to the internet. Should be straight forward, but so far no luck. Not that we've tried very hard. Hopefully sometime in the next week or two we'll either hire the Geek Squad to do it, fly my brother in to do it or really give it the old college try and figure it out ourselves. (Those are listed in order from most to least likely to happen.) In the mean time, my motivation to do anything with this computer is minimal because it takes forever. For. Ever.
Since my last post, David has done the following:
Gone to the Field Museum and a Blackhawks game

Blown out my birthday candle and helped Kevin install new smoke/CO detectors

Attended a Bulls game and conned us into a Benny the Bull head

Won a prestigious gymnastics medal (for showing up to class) and gone to free cone day at Ben & Jerry's

There's no good segue into this, so I'll just add that he insists on calling oatmeal "meatloaf." It make me laugh every time.
Last but not least, David refuses to be videoed doing a cartwheel, but here's some good stuff from gymnastics.

1) Click on the Apple Icon in the top left
2) Click on "System Preferences"
3) Click on the "Network" Icon
4) Under the "Show" option, select "Airport"
5) Select "Preferred Networks" and pick your wireless network.

I'm assuming you've got a wireless router set up since you said it was a laptop.

Hope that helps. Whatever you do, don't give the Geek Squad any of your money.
